Volkswagen establishes Group Human Resources Academy

By establishing the Group HR Academy, the Volkswagen Group has reached a
further milestone in the training of its employees

Volkswagen has established a Group Human Resources Academy for HR personnel. The Academy will pool the transfer of specialist knowledge, skills and experience by experts within the HR profession. The Board Member for Human Resources of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, Dr. Horst Neumann, and the Chairman of the Group Works Council, Bernd Osterloh, signed the cooperation agreement in Ingolstadt.

Board Member for Human Resources Dr. Neumann said: “By establishing the Group HR Academy, the Volkswagen Group has reached a further milestone in the training of its employees. The Academy will make a contribution to outstanding HR work and will make a good team into a top team. It will help Volkswagen become even more attractive and competitive. Outstandingly qualified employees are the essential prerequisite for taking the lead in the automotive industry.”

The Chairman of the Group Works Council, Bernd Osterloh, underlined: “One of the key factors that guarantee our success is a competent team. This is why training is a top priority at Volkswagen. Only colleagues with the best qualifications can build the best cars. With the new Academy, we are setting a further signal and underscoring the importance of training and willingness to learn from each other within the Group.”

Ralph Linde, Head of the Volkswagen Group Academy, said: “Top experts from the HR profession and other instructors will transfer their knowledge at the HR Academy. The Academy will help us to develop skills for outstanding HR work beyond the boundaries of individual brands.”
