• Further study confirms position as Germany’s most attractive employer
• 40 percent of engineering graduates want to join Europe’s largest automaker

Volkswagen Group companies are the most popular employers with engineering and business graduates. This is the result of a new study produced by trendence, Europe’s leading Institute for HR marketing and recruiting. The study is based on a survey of about 37,000 students approaching graduation. In March, another study had already shown that Volkswagen was Germany’s most attractive employer. That study was based on a survey of 13,000 employees in 17 sectors conducted by Focus news magazine and the careers network Xing.

40 percent of engineers responding to the current trendence survey classed Volkswagen Group companies as their favorite employers. 18.4 percent of the young engineers would prefer to join Group brand Audi, the leader in the study, 11.6 percent Porsche and 10.7 percent the Volkswagen brand. Of business students, every fourth would like to join the Volkswagen Group, with 12 percent giving Audi, 7.8 percent the Volkswagen brand and 7.2 percent Porsche as their favorite employer.

The Board Member for Human Resources of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, Dr. Horst Neumann, said: “The Volkswagen team has a common goal: to build cars that generate enthusiasm among customers. Examples include the Golf, Porsche 911, Audi RS 6 and many more. That’s why we are recruiting the best people. With our strong brands and 100 facilities throughout the world, we offer every employee unique development opportunities.”

Each year, the Volkswagen Group strengthens its team with about 10,000 university graduates, who start their career with a trainee program. The StartUp Direct trainee program focuses on training within a specialist area. Graduates with an international orientation can gain experience at several international Group locations on the StartUp Cross trainee program.

Volkswagen also offers a program for doctoral students, direct entry for candidates with more than three years’ experience as well as opportunities for vacation work, students’ internships and work on undergraduate theses. Further information is available at www.volkswagen-karriere.de.
