2013 HYUNDAI VELOSTER TURBO WINS RUEDAS ESPN "BEST SPORTS CAR" AWARD

MIAMI, Nov. 9, 2012 – The 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo has been named “Best Sports Car” by Ruedas ESPN. The leading Spanish automotive radio show in the U.S., Ruedas ESPN presented the award at the 42nd annual Miami International Auto Show. By earning this accolade, the 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo also joins the 2012 Veloster, which was named Ruedas ESPN’s “Best New Product” in 2011.

“The 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo has everything a sport coupe car buyer needs,” said Jaime Florez, Ruedas ESPN director and host. For the 10th annual Ruedas ESPN awards, a panel of 16 experts scanned the automotive industry for the very best offerings in a variety of segments. In total, 12 vehicle categories were considered and each winning product was picked from a list of nominees.

“We’re thrilled to receive the “Best Sports Car” award from Ruedas ESPN for the Veloster Turbo,” said Scott Margason, director of product planning for Hyundai Motor America. “Its appealing combination of unique design, three-door-hatchback versatility and direct-injected, twin-scroll turbocharged power is resonating very well with sport coupe buyers.” With 201 horsepower, exclusive 18-inch wheels and a choice of two six-speed transmissions, Veloster Turbo offers both power and dynamics for a fun-to-drive character. Standard features including heated leather seats, LED headlamp accents and an exclusive body kit that sets the Turbo apart from the competition.

Broadcast live on ESPN Deportes Radio, Ruedas ESPN can be heard on more than 48 radio stations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. The weekly show can also be found on satellite radio stations Sirius and XM Channel 149. Hosts Jaime Florez, Niky Pauli and Sergio Rodriguez discuss topics from cars, engines and anything on wheels as well as the latest in automotive sports. Air time is Sundays from 10 am to 12 pm EST.
