Acura Automobiles: Winner of Acura RLX Experience Game Heading on African Safari

Acura today announced that Mr. George Randall of Wichita, Kansas is the grand prize winner in the Acura RLX Experience: Match-and-Win promotional game.  Mr. Randall will receive The Ultimate Experience, a package worth nearly $60,000, including a seven-night trip for two to the worldwide destination of his choice, an African Safari, with air travel, five-star hotel accommodations and $15,000 in cash.

Thirty-six other winners will receive prizes ranging from $599 Apple gift certificates to weekend getaways for two at Acura-sponsored events and venues, including the Sundance Film Festival, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Pinehurst Golf Resort.

“The all-new Acura RLX is one of the most innovative luxury sedans on the market,” said Susie Rossick, Senior Manager of Regional Marketing. “The Acura RLX Experience has attracted thousands of affluent customers from the heart of the premium luxury sedan market to consider the Acura brand.”

The Acura RLX Experience: Match-and-Win game is part of an integrated, multi-platform marketing campaign, initiated in March 2013 and running through the end of summer, to support the launch of Acura’s all-new RLX luxury-performance flagship sedan. The robust campaign, communicating the theme “Luxury, taken to a whole new level,” is designed to heighten awareness of the Acura brand while capturing the attention of prospective RLX owners.

The 2014 Acura RLX is a technological tour de force that incorporates a range of signature Acura technologies to deliver a truly unique and exhilarating driving experience.  Standard Acura-exclusive technologies on the new RLX include a 300-horsepower i-VTEC V-6 engine, bright and distinctive Jewel Eye LED headlights, Acura Precision All-Wheel Steer™® (P-AWS), and next-generation Acuralink® connected car technology.  The 2014 RLX boasts the most spacious cabin in its competitive set along with top-class EPA fuel economy ratings of 20/31/24 mpg (city/highway/combined).1  Equipped with the next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure, the RLX is anticipated to earn a TOP SAFETY PICK+ crash safety rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), including a GOOD rating in the IIHS’ stringent new small overlap front crash test.

Sales of the 2014 Acura RLX in 2013 are up nearly eight-fold compared with the outgoing Acura RL sedan, as Acura’s overall U.S. sales in 2013 have risen 7.4% versus year-ago results through July. Acura also leads all other luxury nameplates in projected resale value after five years of ownership, according to the car-shopping web site Edmunds.com.

“The Acura brand continues to gain momentum in the luxury marketplace with exciting new models like the RLX sedan and the redesigned MDX luxury SUV, each supported by innovative and dynamic marketing campaigns,” said Rossick. “With each new model, we are delivering increased levels of luxury performance and refinement, and sharpening our focus on the Acura ‘Synergy between Man and Machine’ product direction.”
