Did you know that 60 years ago, NSU, the predecessor brand, started producing vehicles again? In 1957 the company based in Neckarsulm presented the compact NSU Prinz. 50 years ago, the NSU style icon, the Ro 80, made its début with a twin-rotor Wankel engine. In 1967, the people at Neckarsulm also presented their top-of-the-range sporty model, the NSU TTS.
80 years ago in 1937, racing legend, Bernd Rosemeyer, was able to break through the “magic sound barrier” of 400 km per hour for the first time on a normal road using the Auto Union 16-cylinder streamline racing car. And 30 years ago in 1987, Walter Röhrl conquered Pikes Peak in the USA at the wheel of the Audi Sport quattro S1 E2 in less than eleven minutes, thus making him faster than any driver before him.
