Awards for Audi from August to October 2013

German Design Award 2014: awards for Audi R8
The winners of the German Design Award 2014 have now been announced. The Audi R8 has triumphed in the “Transportation and Public Space” category. And the Audi A4 received a “Special Mention.” The German Design Award is staged by the German Design Council. It recognizes products and projects that are of pioneering importance in the German and international design-worlds. The awards ceremony will coincide with the international consumer goods show “Ambiente” in February 2014. (October 21, 2013)

Audi A8 wins British “T3 Gadget Award”
The Audi A8 has won the “T3 Gadget Award” in the “Car of the Year” category. The British magazine T3 makes this award to innovative products once a year. The Audi A8 was commended as an “outstanding example of innovation and design.” (October 16, 2013)

Audi A6 Avant wins reader poll for “Family Car of the Year 2013”
In 2013, the magazines “AutoStraßenverkehr” and “ELTERN” voted the Audi A6 Avant “Family Car of the Year” in the “€35,000 to €40,000 category” for the second time. The Audi Q5 came second in the same price category. Around 35,000 readers of both magazines cast their vote to choose their favorites in seven categories. A total of four Audi models earned top three placings. Markus Siebrecht, Head of Marketing Germany at AUDI AG, took receipt of the award for the A6 Avant. (September 11, 2013)

“Executive Stationwagon of 2013”: top placings for Audi A4 Avant and A6 Avant
Another double win for Audi in the reader poll of the trade publications “handwerk magazin” and “Deutsche Handwerks Zeitung.” The A4 Avant won the “Midsize” category, while the A6 Avant sufficiently impressed around 1,000 voting readers to top the “Full Size” category as “Executive Stationwagon of 2013.” The award highlights the success of the two models with the four rings: Eight months into the year, the Audi A4 and A6 were the most popular automobiles in their category in Germany among commercial customers. Armin Villinger, Head of Sales Key Accounts and Direct Customers at AUDI AG, was presented with the awards at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show by VDA Chairman Matthias Wissmann and publisher Alexander Holzmann. J.D. Power: Audi popular with the Chinese
J.D Power Asia Pacific conducted its China New Vehicle Intender Study SM (NVIS) for the fifth time in 2013 to investigate the brand and model preferences of people in China who plan to buy a new car within the next 12 months. Audi models head the preference list among potential new customers in three segments. The Audi A4 L gets the vote of 54 percent of future customers, putting it in top spot and well ahead of its class competitors. The “Luxury Segment” winner is the Audi A6 L with more than 30 percent of preferences. In the “Luxury SUV” segment, the Audi Q5 and Q7 are ranked in first and second place respectively. The most important criteria for the interviewees are quality, safety, performance and brand image. In all, the study covered 62 brands and 177 models spanning 11 segments. More than 30 percent of those buying a new car intend to purchase a foreign brand. (August 30, 2013)
