Double podium for BMW rider Matteo Ferrari in Italy.

Munich. Last weekend brought more success for the BMW Motorrad
Motorsport community: in the Italian Superbike Championship (CIV),
BMW rider Matteo Ferrari (ITA) wrapped up the 2017 season with a
double podium at Vallelunga (ITA). Also on the weekend’s schedule
was the final round of the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK).

 

 

Italian Superbike Championship at Vallelunga, Italy.

 

The sixth and final round of the 2017 Italian Superbike Championship
(CIV) was held at Vallelunga, north of the Italian capital Rome. The
season ended with a successful outing for BMW rider Matteo Ferrari
(ITA). He claimed a double podium on his DMR Racing BMW S 1000 RR.
Ferrari secured third place in both races on Saturday and Sunday. His
team-mate Denni Schiavoni (ITA) finished both races in the top-ten
with ninth and tenth positions respectively. In the CIV championship
standings, Ferrari was the highest placed BMW rider, finishing the
season in fourth overall.

 

 

Australian Superbike Championship at Phillip Island, Australia.

 

The famous Phillip Island Circuit, south of Melbourne (AUS), hosted
the final round of the 2017 Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK).
Ted Collins (AUS) was in action for BMW team NextGen Motorsports for
the event. He had secured an early title win in the Australian
Supersport Championship and the team gave him the opportunity to debut
in the Superbike class at the Phillip Island round. Collins used the
weekend to get acquainted with the powerful BMW S 1000 RR. In race
one, he collected his first points by finishing 14th and in
the second race he crossed the line in 16th.
