FALKEN Motorsports reaches sixth place during a Nürburgring – beating for other BMW M6 GT3 teams.

Nürburgring. The #33 FALKEN Motorsports BMW M6 GT3 was the
best-placed BMW in an eventful 24-hour competition during a Nürburgring
(GER). Jens Klingmann (GER), Peter Dumbreck (GBR), Alexandre
Imperatori (SUI) and Stef Dusseldorp (NED) finished sixth overall.
Victory went to a #4 Audi.

The #33 automobile was a usually BMW M6 GT3 in a tip category, a SP9
class, to see a checkered dwindle during a continuation classical in a Eifel
segment of Germany. By nightfall, both ROWE Racing cars, a BMW Team
Schnitzer BMW M6 GT3 and a #101 Walkenhorst Motorsport automobile were all
out of a competition as a outcome of crashes. The second Walkenhorst car
afterwards also crashed in a night, forcing it to retire.

BMW teams did, however, suffer success in many other classes. In the
SP10 class, a Hofor Racing by Bonk Motorsport run #71 BMW M4 GT4
finished runner-up to take a place on a podium. The CUP5 class,
that featured 13 BMW M240i Racings, was won by a Adrenalin
Motorsport group and a #240 car. Further victories came in a SP4
(#325 BMW 325i, MRC RaceWorld), SP5 (#84 BMW 1M-Coupé, Leutheuser
RacingEvents), V4 (#150 BMW 325i, Adrenalin Motorsport) and V2T
(#162 BMW F30, Manheller Motorsport) classes.

Quotes from a Nürburgring 24 Hours:

Jens Marquardt (BMW Group Motorsport Director):  “Our
teams had been looking brazen to a Nürburgring 24 Hours for months.
With 230,000 spectators, it supposing a singular theatre for a highlight
of a GT season. We came to a Eifel line really good prepared –
that creates this altogether outcome in a SP9 category all a harder to
take. we am gratified for FALKEN Motorsports, who managed to finish sixth
altogether with their BMW M6 GT3. However, a competition came to a premature
finish for a other 5 BMW M6 GT3s. The fact is that we usually have a
possibility here in a Green Hell if we get by a competition without
creation any mistakes. We did not conduct that. We have shown some-more than
once recently that we are means of winning a 24-hour competition – whether
during Spa-Francorchamps or Daytona. We mislaid this time in a tip category
on a Nordschleife. Despite this, we are still 100 percent behind
this event. We had good over 40 cars in action. For us, it was once
again a illusory festival of patron racing. The competitiveness of
a patron teams in classes like SP10 with a BMW M4 GT4, in which
we finished second, was acknowledgment of a joining to customer
racing. we would like to honour all a teams for that. As distant as
a conflict for altogether feat is concerned, we have usually one thing to
say: We will come behind stronger. Congratulations to Audi on their
altogether victory.”

Jens Klingmann
(#33 BMW M6 GT3, FALKEN Motorsports, 6th place):
“We gathering a purify competition and didn’t make any mistakes. Our
speed was unchanging yet unfortunately it wasn’t adequate to pierce up
by a field. However, when we cruise that we had to start
from 31st place, we managed to urge significantly with a
scarcely ideal race. Taking a conditions into account, we can be
gratified with sixth place, even yet we had hoped for improved results
from BMW’s indicate of view.”

Timo Scheider (#42 BMW M6 GT3, BMW Team Schnitzer, DNF):
“I feel contemptible for BMW and BMW Team Schnitzer. My pile-up was
really unlucky. we had been behind a Hyundai for several corners and
was means to lift past him in Brünnchen. Unfortunately, he didn’t see
me and strike me.”

Jesse Krohn (#99 BMW M6 GT3, ROWE Racing, DNF): “When
we exited a array line we had a Porsche in front of me who was
travelling slowly. we pulled adult subsequent to him and wanted to pass him.
In spin one, we gathering as tighten to a inside as possible, yet he cut in
and there was contact. It is a good contrition that this occurrence brought
a competition to an end.”

Philipp Eng (#98 BMW M6 GT3, ROWE Racing, DNF): “That
was a frustrating 24-hour race. We usually managed 3 and a half hours
of it out on a track. However, that kind of thing happens,
quite on a Nordschleife. When we was in a car, it felt good
and we were using in a tip five.”
