This one is for you, performance car fans. The Focus RS just made its North American debut. It will be the 30th performance car to wear the RS badge and it is being built in Saarlouis, Germany, for drivers all over the world.

This Focus is the most powerful production Focus ever. The former European-only favourite debuts Ford Performance All-Wheel Drive with Dynamic Torque Vectoring Control. The AWD system has been tuned to deliver exceptional grip, and great cornering speed and acceleration out of a bend.

It’s also the first RS with four different Drive Modes and Launch Control. The Normal, Sport, Track, and Drift settings deliver high performance on both the road and the track. There are now specifically modified settings for the all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, damper controls, Electronic Stability Control system, steering and engine responses, and exhaust sound. Moreover, the Drift Mode features a specially developed calibration system for the AWD system that modifies the torque distribution to help drivers achieve controlled oversteer drifts under controlled closed-course conditions. With neutral and adjustable limit handling, the Focus RS delivers an exceptional driving experience.

Other driving improvements include a 2.3L EcoBoost® engine that helps produce over 320 horsepower, and the most powerful RS brake system, with 350 mm ventilated front discs and lightweight aluminum Brembo four-piston monoblock callipers.

“The all-new Focus RS is a serious machine with high-performance technology and innovative engineering that sets a new benchmark for driving exhilaration on the road and track.” – Raj Nair, group vice president, Global Product Development, Ford Motor Company

As exciting as the new RS is under the hood, the new exterior design and connectivity features make everyone take a second look. Careful aerodynamic optimization of the front splitter and the distinctive rear roof spoiler improves performance, while the latest design delivers incredible balance and stability. It also offers optimized aerodynamics and cooling, with zero lift, anexceptionally large diffuser, twin round high-performance exhaust outlets, and a central rear clear fog lamp. SYNC connectivity also provides access to audio, navigation, climate control and mobile phones through voice control and a high definition 8-inch HD colour touch screen.

All-new Ford Focus RS and the Ford GT supercar, revealed earlier this year, are among 12 new performance vehicles Ford will deliver through 2020 globally.
