“Life is in motion,” is the name of the game at the 2015 Canadian International AutoShow, and Ford is leading the way with four major announcements right from the get-go. CIAS runs from February 13-22 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, so if you’re in the area, head on over to see all the latest vehicles and check out some of the exhibits. There will be lots of exciting automotive news to come out of the show over the next week, but as media day wrapped up, Ford took centre stage and announced four additions people are sure to remember.

The biggest news to come out of CIAS has got to be Ford’s announcement of the Ford GT and the fact that it will be built in partnership with Multimatic. The new supercar introduces the first-ever Ford EcoBoost® twin-turbocharged, direct-injected 3.5-litre V6 engine that can produce more than 600 horsepower. With carbon fibre body structure and aluminum subframes, the GT has the best power to weight ratio of any car in the market.

The announcement of the Mustang Shelby GT350R is also making huge waves in auto news. Not only is it the most race-ready street-legal Mustang ever built, the engineering innovations, aero improvements, and carbon-fibre wheels make it ideal for the track.

The new Ford F-150 Raptor made its Toronto debut with an available second-generation 3.5 litre EcoBoost® engine that combines fuel efficiency with incredible power. And for the first time, the truck will feature a 10-speed automatic transmission. The desert-racing-inspired truck is lighter, tougher, and smarter than anything in its class.Ford kicks off 2015 CIAS with a bang

The Ford Explorer has been leading the way in Canada for 25 years, and the 2016 version will build on the established foundation of performance and innovation. The 2016 Ford Explorer combines advanced technology, fuel efficiency and a redesigned interior for seven. It’ll also offer a bigger EcoBoost® option and a new Platinum series.

And even though new vehicles are all the rage, Ford understands that CIAS is a family event. Head on over to the show and check out the F-150 Power Wheels track for the little ones, try your hand at the parking and lane keeping simulators, or play a quick game of Mustang inspired pinball.
