GMC Sierra Voted “Best New Pickup” by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada

TORONTO (Tuesday, December 3, 2013) – GMC was honoured today by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC), which named the 2014 GMC Sierra the “Best New Pickup” in Canada.

“With the importance of the pickup truck segment in Canada, we thank AJAC and its membership for this significant award recognizing the GMC Sierra as the best new pickup in the country,” said Rob Assimakopoulos, general director of marketing and communications for GMC in Canada. “The Sierra is the definition of GMC’s Professional Grade mantra, featuring the most advanced engines in a pickup with a unique combination of technologies delivering legendary GMC capability.”

This award for the all-new 2014 GMC Sierra results from recent rigorous back-to-back testing in Niagara Falls, Ontario in October. Vote results are not the personal opinion of just one journalist. Rather, they are based on a combination of objective data and evaluation by 80 journalists of 174 vehicles. Each journalist drives vehicles in a category back-to-back on the same day, under the same conditions, on closed and public roads, so as to ensure consumer relevance.
