ATLANTA, Jan. 25, 2019 – As an official sponsor of the National Football League’s Super Bowl LIII, Hyundai is proud to announce a special unveiling of the “On Their Shoulders, We Stand” Mural Exhibit and Conversations in Diversity panel in Atlanta. Leading into Black History Month, Hyundai will pay homage to the incredible achievements of Atlanta’s Black leaders, artists, athletes, entertainment and cultural icons through an interactive panel experience featuring the next generation of leaders. The panel series takes place on select dates from Sunday, January 27 – Saturday, February 2 exclusively at the Hyundai NEXO display booth inside Super Bowl LIVE at Centennial Olympic Park.

Recognized as a capital for African-American business leaders, rich history of the Civil Rights movement and pulse on popular entertainment culture, Atlanta has always been the birthplace of “what’s next”. The “On Their Shoulders, We Stand” Mural Exhibit will depict iconic places reflecting the heart and soul of the bustling city while the Conversations in Diversity panel features several discussions surrounding Atlanta’s impact and influence on Faith Religion, Civic Community Leadership, the Black History Education, Entertainment and Entrepreneurship.

This conversation will be hosted at the Hyundai NEXO display booth exhibiting a never before seen original wall mural painted by local visual artist, Corey Barksdale. His edgy style of contemporary art incorporates a variety of lived-in experiences that tells a relatable story everyone can connect to. Corey’s unique blend of color and emotion captures the rich essence of African-American history coupled with a refreshing authenticity of the culture that will live the audience in awe.

Participating panelists include Dr. Bernice A. King, E! News’ Zuri Hall, music legends Doug E. Fresh and Kool Moe Dee; Grammy Award-Winning Producer, Bryan Michael Cox; RB Recording Artist and host of TV One’s Sister Circle, Syleena Johnson; celebrity DJ and producer, DJ Mal-Ski, Gospel Recording Artist Isaac Carree, actress Kim Fields, former NFL Alumni players Quincy Avery; along with Majic 107.5’s Ryan Cameron, Darlene McCoy of Praise 102.5 and more.

“Hyundai is proud to be in Atlanta during Super Bowl 53 and honored to drive authentic conversations around Black History Month,” said Zafar Brooks, director, Diversity Inclusion and Corporate Social Responsibility, Hyundai Motor America. “This is a historic time to bridge the gap between the next generation of leaders and ensuring Atlanta’s undeniable imprint on the legacy and culture of African-Americans is a story told for lifetimes to come.”
