HYUNDAI GENESIS LEADS NEAR LUXURY CAR SEGMENT IN STRATEGIC VISION’S 2010 TOTAL QUALITY INDEX

The performance-oriented, rear-wheel drive Hyundai Genesis sedan was named the Near Luxury Car segment leader in Strategic Visions 2010 Total Quality Index (TQI). Genesis sedan topped its category beating out premium luxury competitors such as the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class, and Audi A4.

Presented annually since 1995, the TQI reveals how vehicles are judged when the complete experience is measured. Car buyers are asked to rate all aspects of the ownership experience from buying and owning to performance and driving.

Hyundai Genesis has provided ground-breaking value among near-luxury (even luxury competition) with luxurious appointments and impressive functionality, starting at $33,000 MSRP, said Chris Chaney, vice president of Strategic Vision.

Hyundais Genesis sedan sets a new benchmark in the premium car category. With a starting price of just $33,000, Genesis includes performance and luxury features typically found on vehicles costing thousands of dollars more. In addition to great features, Hyundai’s generous 10-year, 100,000-mile warranty, numerous standard features, good reliability and affordable price helped Genesis receive the highest score in its category.

Receiving the highest TQI ranking in the Near Luxury Car segment is an important honor as it reflects the unfiltered opinions of Hyundai Genesis owners, said Derek Joyce, manager, product planning, Hyundai Motor America. With leading performance, technology and convenience features comparable to other leading premium sports sedans for a price far less, Genesis continues to exceed expectations for consumers in this segment.
