Mazda Canada reports sales for March 2016

RICHMOND HILL, ON, April 1, 2016 /CNW/ – Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI) today
reported March sales of 6,046 vehicles, representing a decrease of 14.0
percent versus last year. Year-to-date sales through March are down 4.8
percent versus last year, with 13,371 vehicles sold.

Key March 2016 sales notes:

  • MCI’s best-selling model continues to be the Mazda3, with 2,457 vehicles
    sold in March.
  • Mazda CX-5 had its best March sales ever with 2,198 vehicles sold, which
    is an increase of 6.4 percent versus March 2015. The CX-5 has now
    produced 10 straight months of record YOY sales.
  • Mazda’s all-new CX-3 sold 851 vehicles in March, and is as the third
    highest seller in the Mazda lineup, behind the Mazda3 and CX-5.
  • Mazda’s line of CX crossover vehicles continue a strong growth trend,
    with sales increasing by 44.9 percent in March.
  • With the arrival of spring, consumers start gearing up for convertible
    weather, sending March sales for the MX-5 up 121.7 percent,
    representing the best MX-5 sales in the month of March since 2008.
  • SKYACTIV Technology proves to be the key between performance and fuel
    efficiency as customers demand a no compromise solution. 95.9 percent
    of Mazda vehicles sold in March were equipped with SKYACTIV Technology.
