Mazda Canada reports sales for May 2015

RICHMOND HILL, ON, June 2, 2015 /CNW/ – Mazda Canada announced sales for May 2015 today totaling 6,709, which is a decrease of 15% compared to May 2014.

Sales in May were led by the compact Mazda3 with 3,381 sold. The CX-5 was the second-best selling model for Mazda in May with 1,906 units sold. And with just 10 days on sale at the end of May, the all-new 2016 Mazda CX-3 got off to a great start, drawing consumers into showrooms to check out the latest offering from the fun-to-drive brand.

“The initial reaction to the all-new CX-3 has been very strong, and we can clearly see the consumer preferences shifting towards the compact crossover market,” said David Klan, Senior Director, Sales, Marketing and Regional Operations. “This trend continues to grow at a steady pace, and with the go-anywhere nature and best-in-class driving dynamics that the CX-3 provides, Mazda now has one more choice in a strong crossover lineup for every customer.”

In May, 94% of all Mazda vehicles sold were equipped with the fuel-efficient SKYACTIV Technology. With the addition of the new CX-3 subcompact crossover into the lineup, Mazda is moving ever closer to offering SKYACTIV Technology in every vehicle in showrooms.
