Mazda Canada reports sales for October 2018

RICHMOND HILL, ON, Nov. 1, 2018 /CNW/ – Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI) today reported October sales of 5,992 vehicles, representing a decrease of 5.9 percent versus October 2017. Year-to-date (YTD) sales are 64,778, which is an increase of 2.2 percent compared to the same period in 2017.

KEY OCTOBER SALES NOTES:

  • CX-5 again held a small sales win among Mazda models in October with 2,251 units sold, versus 2,214 for second-place Mazda3, which still holds the sales lead for Mazda Canada year-to-date.
  • Mazda3 sales were up 4.0 percent YOY, while the compact segment remained flat in October
  • YTD sales of Mazda’s CX-line remains strong, with CX-3, CX-5 and CX-9 collectively reaching 3,607 vehicles sold in the month of October. While this number represents a decrease of 7.9 percent YOY, collective sales of CX-series crossovers are still up by 11.8 percent YTD.
  • As the weather starts hinting at winter, Mazda’s predictive i-ACTIV All-Wheel Drive option continues to be a favorite among Mazda CX-line buyers, with 85.5 percent of customers choosing the AWD option in October.
