Nissan: ‘CRG-I Do Borrow’ team and its Nissan Altima Coupe set for first Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race this weekend

WATKINS GLEN, New York – After announcing that it will enter a Nissan Altima Coupe for the balance of the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge this season, the “CRG-I Do Borrow” race team embarks on its first competition of the season this weekend in New York.

The team will enter the gates of the famed Watkins Glen International Raceway for round 4 of the season, confident the Altima Coupe will bolster what has been a strong season to date.

CRG and drivers Sarah Cattaneo and Owen Trinkler are currently fifth in Team and Drivers’ Street Tuner (ST) Class Championship Points standings respectfully, which includes a win at Sebring International Raceway in March. The Altima Coupe, albeit new to the team, will retain the teams’ popular pink and black livery with sponsors I Do Borrow and AC Properties adorned throughout.

“I’m excited to be part of the Nissan family,” said Cattaneo. “It’s a great opportunity for us as a team, and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us. The time I’ve had in the car has been very positive, and I look forward to the debut at Watkins Glen and see how it shakes out against the competition.”

Trinkler, a long-time veteran of the series, has a renewed level of excitement – as though he’s running for the first time.

“I’m looking forward to getting started at Watkins Glen with the new car,” said Trinkler. “Sarah and I have really liked it in testing, and I think this will give us the opportunity to bring the fight to our competition. We’re the only ones running the Nissan, so we’re on an island; being a small one-car team, we’re used to that. We know our destiny is in our hands as we fight against the larger teams towards the championship.”

The Continental Monterey Grand Prix kicks off with the first practice session on Thursday, June 30 at 3 p.m. EDT.  The race will drop the green flag on Saturday, July 2 at 12:25 p.m. EDT.  The race can be viewed live on IMSA.com and via tape delayed broadcast on Fox Sports 1 on July 10 at 9 a.m. EDT.
