OYAMA, Japan – Nissan’s annual NISMO Festival is eagerly awaited by motorsports enthusiasts around the world. Held towards the end of the year’s racing season at Fuji Speedway in Oyama, Japan, NISMO Festival brings fans closer to the brand through the celebration of its successes, both current and historic, as it closes out the annual motorsports calendar in Japan.

2014 NISMO Festival a roaring success with over 35,000 fan turnout

Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 (GT500) Onboard at Fuji
Ride on-board with Alex Buncombe in the classic Pennzoil NISMO Skyline GT-R R34 GT500 around the famous Fuji circuit. Al jumped in the car for a spin around Fuji before the 2014 NISMO Festival.
Highlights
The “NISMO Festival 2014” was held at Fuji Speedway, and a huge 35,000-strong crowd of Nissan and NISMO fans came out to enjoy it. First opened in 1997, this is the 17th year this event has been hosted in order to show appreciation for all the fans.
This year the event focused on looking back on the history of NISMO, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary. From the morning, the event was blessed with warm, comfortable weather. The festival kicked off with an opening ceremony in which all active drivers and team principals appeared on the stage to announce the start of the festivities. Having taken home both the driver’s and team’s titles in this year’s SUPER GT – when NISMO’s Tsugio Matsuda, Ronnie Quintarelli and team principal, Yutaka Suzuki stepped onto the stage – the applause from the crowd became exceptionally loud.

2013 NISMO Festival: Return of NISMO Festival brings bumper crowd to Fuji Speedway

Fuji Speedway played host to the NISMO Festival on Sunday, December 1, where dozens of Nissan’s most storied machines took to the track in front of over 32,000 adoring fans. After one year away (while NISMO was being relocated to a new HQ in Yokohama), this year’s festival reaffirmed its position as the preeminent of the manufacturer-based post-season extravaganzas.
With an objective of bringing fans closer to the brand through the celebration of its successes, NISMO Festival is eagerly awaited by motorsports enthusiasts.
The day was filled with on-track activity, keeping fans enthralled as iconic machines battled in exhibition races, some of them piloted by their original drivers.
