Nissan: Nissan production, sales and export results for August 2016

YOKOHAMA, Japan – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export figures for August 2016.

1. Production
August
Nissan’s global production in August increased 11.9 percent year-on-year to 446,058 units, the seventh consecutive month of increase and a record for the month of August.

Production in Japan increased 19.5 percent year-on-year to 62,621 units, the first increase in two months.

Production outside Japan increased 10.8 percent year-on-year to 383,437 units, the sixteenth consecutive month of increase and a record for the month of August.

In the U.S., production increased 8.5 percent year-on-year to 96,038 units, a record for the month of August.

In Mexico, production increased 10.5 percent year-on-year to 81,688 units, a record for the month of August.

In the U.K., production decreased 13.7 percent year-on-year to 34,668 units.

In Spain, production increased 117.3 percent year-on-year to 3,679 units.

In China, production increased 11.1 percent year-on-year to 101,856 units, a record for the month of August.

Production in other regions increased 31.0 percent year-on-year to 65,508 units.

2. Sales
Global sales increased 1.8 percent year-on-year to 413,398 units, the first increase in two months and a record for the month of August.

Japan:
Sales including mini-vehicles decreased 7.7 percent year-on-year to 33,868 units.

  • Vehicle registrations increased 0.6 percent year-on-year to 24,081 units.
  • Mini-vehicle sales decreased 23.2 percent year-on-year to 9,787 units.

Sales outside Japan increased 2.7 percent year-on-year to 379,530 units, the third consecutive month of increase and a record for the month of August.

In the U.S., sales decreased 6.5 percent year-on-year to 124,638 units.

In Mexico, sales increased 13.7 percent year-on-year to 33,373 units, a record high for the month of August.

In Europe, sales decreased 4.0 percent year-on-year to 41,058 units.

In China, sales increased 16.6 percent year-on-year to 103,840 units, a record high for the month of August.

Sales in other regions increased 3.2 percent year-on-year to 64,997 units.

3. Exports from Japan
Exports in August increased 0.3 percent year-on-year to 34,731 units, the fourth consecutive month of increase.
