Nissan: Nissan production, sales and export results for October 2015

YOKOHAMA, Japan – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export figures for October 2015.

1. Production
Nissan’s global production in October increased 4.1 percent year-on-year to 481,369 units, an all-time record for the month of October.

Production in Japan decreased 4.4 percent year-on-year to 69,904 units, a decline for the first time in two months.

Production outside of Japan increased 5.7 percent year-on-year to 411,465 units, the sixth consecutive month of increase and an all-time record for a single month.

In the U.S., production was down 0.4 percent year-on-year to 92,768 units.

In Mexico, production increased 8.2 percent year-on-year to 83,056 units, an all-time record for a single month.

In the U.K., production decreased 9.0 percent year-on-year to 46,077 units.

In Spain, production declined 19.4 percent year-on-year to 7,828 units.

In China, production was up 18.5 percent year-on-year to 117,061 units.

Production in other regions increased 7.3 percent year-on-year to 64,675 units.

2. Sales
Global sales increased 2.4 percent year-on-year to 430,993 units, the fifth consecutive month of increase and an all-time record for the month of October.

Japan:

  • Sales including mini-vehicles declined 5.9 percent year-on-year to 38,840 units, the 17th consecutive month of decline.
  • Vehicle registrations decreased 8.3 percent year-on-year to 25,461 units.
  • Mini-vehicle sales decreased 0.8 percent year-on-year to 13,379 units.

Sales outside Japan increased 3.3 percent year-on-year to 392,153 units, the sixth consecutive month of increase and an all-time record for the month of October.

In the U.S., sales increased 12.5 percent year-on-year to 116,047 units, an all-time record for the month of October.

In Mexico, sales increased 20.3 percent year-on-year to 32,499 units, an all-time record for the month of October.

In Europe, sales decreased 13.0 percent year-on-year to 54,189 units.

In China, sales increased 16.8 percent year-on-year to 109,575 units.

Sales in other regions were down 7.2 percent year-on-year to 68,184 units.

3. Japan Exports
Nissan’s exports in October increased 14.9 percent year-on-year to 42,602 units, the first increase in three months.
