Personnel changes at Audi Design

“We will further develop and differentiate the design of our model families. Wolfgang Egger has made valuable contributions to this process in his work at Audi and will continue to deliver important stimulus in the future through his work in Turin,” stated Audi CEO Prof. Rupert Stadler.

Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Board of Management Member for Technical Development, has previously cooperated closely with Marc Lichte in his function as Head of Exterior Design for the Volkswagen brand. “In his work, Marc Lichte places emphasis on expressing the core values of the brand in emotional form and with maximum quality. With a view to Audi’s core competencies such as the quattro drive system and intelligent lightweight construction, that will be an important element of his work,” stated Hackenberg.

With his move to Turin, Wolfgang Egger will be a member of the management team as well as Styling Director of Italdesign, the Italian Audi subsidiary. Italdesign Giugiaro S.p.A. is based in the Turin district of Moncalieri and is a creative think tank for all the brands of the Volkswagen Group. It also provides services to external clients through its Industrial Design unit.

In addition to designing automobiles and other high-value consumer goods, Italdesign’s Engineering unit also develops automotive components through to series maturity. And small series of cars can be produced in its Pre-Series Center.

The Audi subsidiary employs approximately 950 people.
