Successful winter sports season for Audi

Athlete extraordinaire Marcel Hirscher impressed competitors and spectators once more. The Austrian won the overall men’s World Cup for the fifth consecutive time and, with a score of 1,795 points, set a new personal record. In the women’s events, Lara Gut (CH) and U.S. star Lindsey Vonn were racing head-to-head for a long time until the season ended for Vonn due to injuries. In the end, Gut won the coveted crystal ball in the women’s events.

The World Cup Finale in St. Moritz was also the ‘dress rehearsal’ for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships presented by Audi to be held from February 6 to 19, 2017.

Off the slopes, Audi was featured at the season’s pinnacle event in Kitzbühel with a speedy innovation, the inaugural Audi quattro #SuperQ. At the wheel of sporty Audi models, skiing aces Marcel Hirscher, Henrik Kristoffersen (N), Felix Neureuther (D) and Ted Ligety (USA) experienced driving at the limit on a snow and ice course specifically prepared for the competition. The ski racers really got their money’s worth during this ultimate quattro experience, as did the guests who, during the World Cup events in Europe, North America and Asia, had the opportunity of getting a first-hand impression of the superiority of the permanent all-wheel drive on snow and ice.
