• AUTO TEST selects Golf Estate as the overall winner of the gold prize

The renowned American market research institute J.D. Power and AUTO TEST, the leading trade magazine for new car buying of AUTO BILD, selected their winner this year. In the J.D. Power VOSS (Vehicle Ownership Satisfaction Study), Volkswagen Touareg and Volkswagen up! achieved the highest scores for satisfaction in their vehicle segments and were rewarded first place. Simultaneously, the new Golf Estate was chosen as the overall winner of the gold prize by the AUTO TEST editorial office.

This year, Volkswagen was able to score big in the J.D. Power VOSS twice: the Touareg left its competitors in the dust in the large SUV segment, and the up! won in the “City Car” category (supermini). The results of the customer satisfaction survey are based on an online survey that questioned around 18,000 vehicle owners on their experience with their vehicles over the last two years. In so doing, the market researchers at J.D. Power and Associates defined customer satisfaction based upon the values of quality, attractiveness, service and maintenance costs. The satisfaction survey of the renowned U.S. market research company has also been compiled in Germany since 2002.

The AUTO TEST winners are determined by the editorial office based on score evaluations every year since 2008. The findings from 500 tests and sales consultations of an entire year serve as the basis. After the Golf stood on the winner’s podium last year, the Golf Estate is the victor in terms of overall scores this year. The score takes into account such disciplines as acceleration, braking distances, consumption as well as vehicle quality, safety, repurchase and operating costs.
